  • What type of transcription services do you provide?
  • A: We transcribe both audio and video files. We offer the following types of transcription services:
    • Media Transcription
    • Podcast Transcription
    • Journalistic Interview Transcription
    • Educational Transcription
    • Focus Group Transcription

  • How do I send my files for transcription?
  • A: You can upload files directly through our website or through an FTP client. For files larger than 200MB, please use an FTP client.
  • How do I set up an FTP client?
  • A: You will first need to download and install FTP client software, such as Filezilla or Cyberduck. Once the software is installed, you can request FTP access here.
  • What is the process for sending files through an FTP client?
  • A: Once your account has been granted FTP access, you will need to follow these instructions each time you upload via FTP client. From the upload page, select "Upload via FTP client." Complete the form on the following page then select "Continue." Follow the instructions on the following page. Once we have downloaded and checked the file, you will receive an email notification with instructions for completing the order. Once the order is complete, we will start work on the transcription.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Each time you upload through the FTP client, you must complete the form on the website. We will not start working on any transcripts uploaded via FTP client until the form is completed and payment has been processed.
  • Will I get confirmation about my order?
  • A: Yes. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after placing your order.
  • Will I be informed if there are any problems with the files?
  • A: Yes. We will inform you if there are any problems with downloading the files, corrupted files or audio quality.
  • In what formats are finished transcripts delivered?
  • A: We deliver transcripts as MS Word documents.
  • Do you transcribe verbatim?
  • A: We transcribe dialogue clean verbatim, omitting fillers and false starts. We do not transcribe ads or music.
  • When transcribing Reality TV or Documentary Interviews, do you transcribe verbatim?
  • A:Only relevant audio will be transcribed. Talk between the production crew about technical issues will not be transcribed.
  • Do you skip the ads in the Podcast?
  • A: Yes. Our standard policy is that all commercial breaks, music etc from the audio will not be transcribed.
  • How do you identify speakers?
  • A: We identify speakers by name if possible. If we dont have names, then we identify them as interviewer, interviewee, male speaker, female speaker, etc. with numbers added to distinguish if there is more than one similar speaker. If you require any particular method of identification, please send us the details and we will incorporate them in the transcripts.
  • What format or type of audio or video files do you accept?
  • A: We accept the following file formats:
    WAV, MP3, WMA, DSS, DVF, AIFF/AIF, Quicktime, MOV, AVI, MP4, MP2, MMV, Podcasts.
  • What is difficult audio quality?
  • A: Difficult audio quality includes background noise, static on recordings, more than two speakers, overlapping dialogue, faint audio recordings, strong accents, or non-native English speakers. Difficult audio files may require an additional surcharge of $0.50/ min. We cannot guarantee 99% accuracy and because of the additional time and resources, the requested turn around time may be extended by 1 to 2 business days depending on the length of the file(s).
  • Do you charge additionally for timestamp / timecode in the transcript?
  • A: Yes, we charge an additional $0.15 cents per minute of audio/video for entering timestamp / timecode in the transcript. For Interviews, we insert the time stamps above all interviewee responses and at least every 30 to 60 seconds thereafter. If you have special requirements for time stamps, please indicate it in the notes section when you place an order or send us an email at
  • When will payment be due?
  • A: Payment is due at the time of placing the order.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
  • A: We accept credit card payments through PayPal. If your company is unable to pay via credit card and needs invoices, please contact us at and we will set up a billing account for you.
  • What are your hours of operation?
  • A: Monday to Friday. 9AM - 6PM EST
  • Does the turn around include weekends and holidays?
  • A: No. Turn around does not include weekends and holidays.
  • When does the clock start ticking for turn around time?
  • A: The countdown for turn around starts the morning after you place the order. If you place an order on a Monday, the countdown starts Tuesday morning. As an example, if you placed a rush order on Monday, you can expect your file(s) back by Wednesday morning the latest.

    Send us an email at if you anticipate placing a rush order in the coming days and you will need your transcripts completed by the day after you send us the media.
